During European reconstruction, shows masses of children wander in war-ravaged cities begging, stealing, and scavenging for food. Shows empty fields marking the site of Lidice, Czech.; Hitler and von Runstedt; women survivors of the Lidice massacre; packed courtrooms at Nuremburg, Germany and corpses piled up in concentration camps.

Amazing FRENCH FILM Covers US Advance, Underground Activities
Interesting film, in a sweet but eerie context - there is a music score but no narration. The French seem to have made this film after the war and chose to let the compiled images tell the story. Paris is flooded and covered with water sometime in World War II and work crews build barriers to stop the water. Rowboats and paddles, row boats, canoes, refugees in the snow with ox carts in a blizzard. Older women at Christmas must be winter in Europe. Mine detector operations. French soldier's vehicles are in the water. Sherman tank on a tow truck driven to repairs. DUCK jeep in the mud. Self propelled gun artillery crew races to their gun and fires howitzers into a hillside. Combat action. Map is checked and big guns are fired. Amazing house to house fighting in a town - Sherman tank is hit with rubble in a town. US wounded are brought into a hospital in France. Christmas celebration for the wounded with wine and food in front of the tree.

Secret OSS mission headed by Lt. Col. Gunn during World War II to rescue by air, allied airmen in a prisoner of war camp southwest of Bucharest, Romania. Part 1, aerial views of the Albanian coast line and Danube River as plane approaches Ploesti airfield. Romanian officials greet O.S.S. officers to arrange evacuation of the prisoners. Part 2, scenes of downed fliers in POW camp, in hospital and getting ready for evacuation; bomb damage to Ploesti oil fields; ambulant and wounded POW's board B-17's.

OSS INDIA Field Report
Report on movement of wounded soldiers. At Calcutta airport OSS personnel deplane from C-47 and are transported to 42nd General Hospital Headquarters in Red Cross ambulance. Soldiers eat on hospital grounds. British plane lands, and passengers deplane.
